The Inception of The Archon's Thesis
Today marks the first public step of a project I have been shaping for some time: The Archon's Thesis — a lore encyclopedia and narrative companion for Final Fantasy XIV, built to be read alongside the Main Scenario Quest.
Why this exists
This started as something I wanted for myself — a reason to dive deeply into the lore, the history, and the systems of Eorzea as I made my way through the MSQ. Along the way, I realised it might help others on the same journey too.
That is what The Archon's Thesis became: a personal deep-dive, shared openly.
What is live today
The site is now online with:
- An encyclopaedia scaffold organized by expansion and era
- Pages on the project's purpose, how to use it, and about the author
- The first lore entry stubs under A Realm Reborn
The written web component is the foundation. A companion video essay series is planned for later — the encyclopaedia comes first.
What comes next
Over the coming weeks I will begin filling in the first real lore entries, starting with topics like the Aetheryte network and the city-states of Eorzea. Corrections, feedback, and suggestions are always welcome — this is a living project, run primarily by one person, and it will improve with help from the community.
