How to Use This Site

The Archon's Thesis is designed to be read alongside your playthrough, not instead of it. Here is how to get the most from it.

Read in step with the MSQ

Each entry is anchored to a point in the Main Scenario Quest. The recommended rhythm:

  1. Play until you reach a narrative milestone.
  2. Pause and read the entries anchored to that milestone.
  3. Return to the game with richer context.

Three sections, one story

The site is split into three lore tracks so you are not overwhelmed on a single page:

  • The Journey — MSQ chapters to read at each narrative milestone
  • The Encyclopaedia — thematic deep-dives into the world
  • Context — clarifications and background outside the quest line

Chronicles is separate — project news and updates, not MSQ companion material.

LoreFollow the Journey First

Start with The Journey and read entries as you reach each milestone in the game. Use Context when a chapter points you there, and The Encyclopaedia when you want a deeper dive on a topic.

Web and video, together

The project has two complementary components:

  • The Web Component (this site) — the written index, wiki database, and script repository. Best for reference, citations, and reading at your own pace.
  • The Video Component — a companion video essay series mapped to these entries, best for a cinematic, narrated experience.
WarningVideo Content Coming Later

The video essay series does not exist yet — it is planned and will be created later. For now, the written entries on this site are the complete experience.

Once available, use whichever suits the moment; the two will cover the same material from different angles.

Interactive elements

  • Database tooltips — hover linked terms to see official Eorzea Database entries.
  • Source citations — inline chips point to the primary source behind a claim.
  • Spoiler gates — some terms are hidden behind a click to protect the unwary.
WarningMind the Spoiler Gates

If a term or panel is marked as a spoiler, it means the content sits ahead of where you likely are in the story. Reveal it only if you are comfortable knowing more.

Where to start
